HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WHAT YOU DO, AND HOW DID YOU BECOME A BUSINESS GROWTH MENTOR?


To answer this question, it’s probably best that I share with you a defining moment, and a resulting “compelling story” that brought me to where I am today – leading and mentoring women like you as they grow their coaching, speaking, and consulting business and design, market, and fill their high end programs.

That defining moment in my life happened in 2005.

I was in the corporate world for over a decade. I was in charge of training programs for corporate employees - driving all across the country to deliver professional development courses. I LOVED running the workshops - but often, what we delivered and what they REALLY needed were two different things.

Here I was, being paid to mould these people into ideal employees but I found myself wanting to shout at them “You can be SO much More! Leave! Live your dream!”.

And in my own life, the stress was mounting.

I was always traveling, traveling, traveling, and I was exhausted.

It all came to a head when during a 5-hour journey home I fell asleep at the wheel narrowly avoiding a catastrophic accident. It was a literal wake-up call. “This just isn’t worth it. It’s draining my soul,” I thought.

I had to change my entire lifestyle. I needed to create a healthier and more supportive environment for myself. I had to walk in the empowerment and integrity I had tried to foster in others for so long. In short, I knew I needed to take control.

So the same week that my husband was made redundant I left that job (smart eh?). With a ‘no going back’ approach, at first, I freelanced for other large companies – but realised I was just recreating the same job but with no holiday pay or benefits! So I knew I had to get my own direct clients.

I got crystal clear on what I could deliver, and where my true strengths lie and I looked at client attraction as a project. I create simple processes, noted what worked, and tweaked what didn’t.

Within four weeks I’d landed my first high end client and was soon delivering my own executive coaching & training programmes to clients I LOVED.

I found reasonable success at this, and soon discovered an unexpected audience – other trainers! “How do you get clients? Can you actually make money in this profession? How can I sell high-ticket programs like you do?” they asked me.

I knew I needed to go one step further and start my own consulting firm. And so I did. There were many times I didn’t know my next step but I approached the process with all the enthusiasm and dedication I could muster. And I learned. And I prospered.

I stepped into my personal power as a mentor and started teaching other women entrepreneurs how they can do the same: I watched them build “real” businesses too!

I have since made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping others believe in themselves, breathe new energy and life into their businesses, craft valuable services and products they are proud of, and land high-end clients!

Since then, I’ve worked with many private clients, spoken in front of countless groups: I live my dream of financial independence that affords me the ability to travel the world, spreading my message.
